Apples

Kindergarten drew apples and painted them with watercolours.
Some students draw the apple whole, others drew the apples cut in half, revealing the seeds inside.
Once dry, the students added highlights (shiny spots!) with chalk pastel.
The apples and a strip of calico, to represent an apple basket, were glued to green or red paper.

Dots

Kindergarten have been learning about Dot painting in art, from traditional Aboriginal painting, Pointillism and Pop Art. We read the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and watched the animation on YouTube.

Kindy have been doing their own dot pictures using a lot of bright colours, including primary and secondary colours, and using different materials to make dots.

Kindy also painted the negative space of a dot with watercolours. We used paper plates to leave the dot area white.

Primary Colour Faces

Kindergarten have been learning about Primary Colours and how to use paint.
Kindy looked at their own faces and the different parts of faces. They used pastels and drew a very close picture of their faces, as if they were looking into a mirror or about to give someone a big kiss! Kindergarten used primary coloured paints to finish their self-portraits.
