Kindergarten created bright houses in the style of Australian artist, Howard Arkley. Kindy also looked at the following interactive game online: Howard Arkley interactive
Kindergarten drew apples and painted them with watercolours. Some students draw the apple whole, others drew the apples cut in half, revealing the seeds inside. Once dry, the students added highlights (shiny spots!) with chalk pastel. The apples and a strip of calico, to represent an apple basket, were glued to green or red paper.
Kindergarten have been learning about Dot painting in art, from traditional Aboriginal painting, Pointillism and Pop Art. We read the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and watched the animation on YouTube.
Kindy have been doing their own dot pictures using a lot of bright colours, including primary and secondary colours, and using different materials to make dots.
Kindy also painted the negative space of a dot with watercolours. We used paper plates to leave the dot area white.
